About Us:

Dan: I was saved at the age of four at home where my parents frequently invited missionaries to visit and passed on to me their heart for missions. I attended a Christian college where I enjoyed the opportunities offered in weekly Christian service activities and the campus Mission Prayer Band. While in college, I also had the privilege of attending BIMI's Camp BIMI, a missions institute taught by veteran missionaries. It was here that the Lord gave me a desire to reach those that have never heard the Gospel. After graduating with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Missions, the Lord opened the door for me to come to Trinity Baptist Church in Oxford, Alabama. Under the direction of my pastor, Dr. C. O. Grinstead, I was able to apply my college training to ministry at the church by teaching in our Christian school, speaking in church and school services and working in Children's ministries. I was also responsible for technical aspects of our church's radio ministry: two FM stations reaching 24 counties with the Gospel. This is what God used to show me the unparalleled opportunity of bringing the gospel to the lost through Christian radio.

Amie: I received the Lord as my Savior at the age of eight. The Lord used several missions trips during my high school years to expose me to missions and worldwide evangelization. While a nursing major at a Christian college, God showed me how I could use my medical training as a tool to make a difference, not just physically through healthcare, but also spiritually through the gospel. During my junior year I realized the Lord wanted me to serve Him in full-time medical missions. After graduation in May of 1999, I took a short-term missions trip to Togo, West Africa, where I assisted in a mission hospital. The Lord used this time to give me a burden for the African people. Since that time, I have earned my license as a registered nurse and worked as charge nurse in two local hospitals. This has allowed me not only to expand my medical skills and experience, but also to share the hope of eternal life with those suffering from physical needs. Now I am able to apply my medical experience and training to ministry here in Uganda.

Ministries: We spent 12 years working as part of a missionary team in Soroti, Uganda. In addition to preaching at the Soroti Independent Baptist Church, Dan taught in the Bible Institute and managed a Christian radio station. In 2016, God led us to relocate the radio station. Later that year He showed us that He was also relocating us. In January 2017, we will be moving to begin a new ministry in a different part of Uganda. Our new home will be in Wakiso District, just outside Uganda’s capital city of Kampala. There, we will be establishing a new church plant, and Dan will be teaching weekly in a four-year Bible College.

Our Goals: As we move to our new location in 2017, our first step is to begin building relationships with those in our community. Our whole family will be involved in sharing the Good News and proclaiming Christ’s love to our new community. By sharing the gospel to those we meet, we pray that God will draw men, women, and children to Himself. With these new believers we plan to begin Bible studies which can later provide a core group to begin Sunday services and establish a local church. At East Africa Baptist College, Dan will be teaching students enrolled in one to four year programs of Bible training and church ministry. We will also still be connected to the ministries in Soroti where we served for the first 12 years in Uganda. Dan will continue to teach some monthly Bible Institute modules, and we will remain available to assist the ministries there as needed. The radio stations will also continue to operate with local staff, and Dan will provide technical and administrative assistance, both through remote access and physical visits to the stations.
